Ashland, Oregon is one of the most beautiful towns it’s ever been my pleasure to live! I stayed there a year in a nice house my daughter rented and I have to say I could have retired there!
It reminded me of being in Chester, England!
Everything is so quaint!
It’s a hippy town for sure.
Black Sheep Pub
And the best place of all was Smithfields Pub and Pies! Owned by another Brit called Neil, I made some good friends here.
The beer was PFRIEM lager and it was insanely delicious! The fries were the best ever and so was the Portland Ketchup!
Once a year there is a Shakespeare festival and all fans of The Bard try to get here and enjoy the festivities.
Of course I found the local Indian cuisine!
When Tristan came to visit me this is where we would hang out for tea.
Rogue Valley Growers and Crafters Market
Still a hippy scene!
Larks theater— having a lark or larking around!
Here’s Jeff preparing to view an eclipse!
Here’s the partial eclipse.
This shot from the newspaper!
Here’s my favorite beer I ever had—-PFriem! Brewed in Bend, Oregon it is one of the finest brews I ever tasted!
Neil Clooney owner of Smithfields Pub and Pies. What a great guy. I loved going in his pub and the food was awesome. Sadly Neil has let the pub go in favor of following his passion to be a fireman! He couldn’t have chosen a better ( Or worse???) time to be a Fireman as Oregon is exploding in flames right now from Mother Natures heatwave and lack of rain. ( written today Sep 11th 2020). OMG 9/11!!!!
Best fries I ever had!
The best ketchup I ever had……..
And the best mustard! I still have a bottle of Aardvark hot sauce here in Orlando!
Here’s a pic Neil sent me yesterday!!!! Brave soul fighting those fires!
